Our role in intermittent self-catheterisation
A nursing education platform to support managed care
Our BD nurses are here to support you by providing a gold standard service to your patient. Our experienced nursing team will take the time to get to know your patient by first performing a full assessment, and furthermore making a recommendation on which product will suit your patient best. We pride ourselves on being an ethical service and will always recommend what is best for your patient – whether it is ours or another company’s product.
By being treated at home, the patients benefit as they are in their familiar environment. The NHS benefits as well, as patients who need longer assessment times can be discharged to Script-easy®, relieving pressure and freeing up NHS appointment times.
A simplified patient follow-up, for a successful experience of care
All of the patient’s information is uploaded to BD’s Script-easy® database, which is a completely confidential service, and is managed by our dedicated customer care team in Worthing. On the first visit, the BD nurse will place the first order through Script-easy® on behalf of the patient, and a letter will be sent back to the referrer, keeping you involved in the process throughout. The first order will be delivered straight to their door, and includes a welcome pack, contact numbers, and stickers, to make reordering quick and easy for your patient!
Beyond this, BD offers our Nurse Advice Line, which is available to patients Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Staffed by our registered nurses specialising in Urology, our team is here to help answer your questions and provide your patients with the specialised support they need.
This is provided at no cost to the patient. It will cost the NHS no more than a regular prescription from the pharmacy.
Supporting patients suffering from urinary retention
Our BD clinical nurse specialists are here to support in your intermittent self-catheterisation journey and guide you every step of the way. We provide you (and your loved ones, if you’d like) training in your home, which will allow you to be seen sooner and in your own comfortable environment.
When you first meet your BD clinical nurse specialist, you will be given a full assessment, ensuring that your nurse is able to fully understand your medical history and provide you with the best possible treatments. Our nurses are always updating their knowledge so that they know exactly which product is right for you.
Your information is then uploaded to BD’s Script-easy® database, which is a completely confidential service, and is managed by our dedicated customer care team in Worthing. On the first visit, the BD nurse will place the first order through Script-easy on your behalf. The first order will be delivered straight to your door, and includes a welcome pack, contact numbers, and stickers, to make reordering quick and easy!
Beyond this, you have access to our Nurse Advice Line, which is available Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Staffed by our registered nurses specialising in Urology, our team is here to help answer your questions and provide you with specialised support.
All provided at no cost to you.

Our team is here to help, and patients can access ongoing support through the Nurse Advice Line. The Nurse Advice Line is available Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm. It is covered by our specialist nurses on a rotating schedule.
Patients registered to Script-easy® have automatic access to the confidential support service. It is important to note, this is not an emergency helpline and there are not out of office hours options. It is designed to offer support to patients with general questions and to connect them to their nurses, should a problem arise. Because the line is connected to Script-easy®, patient information will be at the nurse’s fingertips for them to be able to best help the patient.
