Our team consists of individually registered nurses who receive patient referrals. We have an honorary contract with some Trusts who feel that it is necessary, however we’re an independent nursing service who can receive referrals without having contracts in place. Our team provides inhouse support in the form of ISC clinics, which can be setup through further discussion.

There is no cost to patients use the BD nursing service. The cost to the NHS is the same as using any other formulary. There is a cost for the Appliance User Review (AUR). The fee is £54 for a face-to-face AUR carried out in a patient’s home (including care homes). If more than one AUR is conducted in the same location within a 24- hour period (i.e. multiple patients in a care home) £54 will be paid for the first AUR, and £28 for each subsequent AUR. £28 for an AUR conducted on pharmacy premises or remotely via telephone.

The patient is then contacted within a couple of days, with the intention that the referred patient is seen within 2 weeks, depending on their needs. We discharge the service once we have gone through the process with the patients, but then they can ask for further follow ups and visits and can order all of their supplies through Script-easy®.

Patient is given the details for the Nurse Advice Line and referred to original nurses. If the issue is product related, they can use Script-easy® for support. If the issue is access related, they will be referred back to the
