Introduction

BD’s commitment for improving patient lifestyle with intermittent self‑catheterisation

BD is a global medical technology company that is advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care.

With locations in over 50 countries and employing 70,000 associates, BD is working to improve healthcare and patient outcomes. We provide innovative solutions that help advance medical research and genomics, enhance the diagnosis of infectious disease and cancer, improve medication management, promote infection prevention, and more. We work with customers and partners to help enhance outcomes, lower health care delivery costs, increase efficiencies, improve health care safety and expand access to health.

BD has been in the UK since 1964, and we’ve developed our intermittent self-catheterisation offering over time. BARD acquired Rochester Medical in 2013 and BD acquired BARD in 2017, and since then our role in Homecare has expanded.

BD has a range of silicone (HydroSil Go™ Intermittent Urinary Catheter) and polyurethane (BD™ Ready-to-Use Intermittent Hydrophilic Catheter™) intermittent catheters to suit many different patient profiles.
